The main independent cinema in Newcastle, it screens films from around the world not just Hollywood. The cinema has now moved back into its newly renovated, beautiful 1930's picture palace. It also has courses and lectures on film, digital media and screen writing. Right in the centre of Newcastle in the Gate - a new development of bars and eateries (and a casino) right behind Eldon Square. The cinema boasts twelve screens.

The Odeon, Metro Centre

Located in the Metro Centre, the cinema is easy to get to by car or bus. The cinema has 11 screens.

The Odeon, Silverlink

The Odeon Silverlink, Silverlink Business Park, Wallsend

Not as easy to get to by public transport as some of the other cinemas, but it is close to the ferry terminal for Holland. You really need a car to get to it. The cinema has 9 screens.

HEXHAM

The Forum Cinema, Hexham

8-9 Market Place, Hexham

Situated right in the heart of Hexham and the only cinema in Tynedale, it's owned by a community partnership. The cinema dates back 70 years. Although it's limited to just one screen, it shows the latest releases and it's prices are cheaper than most of the multi screen cinemas. (It also has a bar in the cinema and a pub downstairs)

Near to the train station in the centre of Carlisle. The cinema has 7 screens.
